Also designated as ST44 by PKP Polish Railways Cargo. Built by the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive works in Luhansk, Ukraine. M62 locomotives are said to have heavy fuel consumption and even damage the rail tracks. The nickname in Poland is ‘Gagarin’. As M62 locomotives were exported to several countries both inside and outside the Soviet Union, they had other appropriate nicknames in those countries.
Pol-Miedz Trans is a Polish transport company based in Lubin, which was established in 1996.
