Class Ol49 entering Wolsztyn station, Poland, with empty coaching stock (2 coaches!) ready to take a trip arranged for our railway enthusiasts tour group from Wolsztyn to Zbaszynek and return on 2 October 2015.
Designed in 1949 and built in 1954 in Chrzanow, Poland by Fabryka Lokomotyw w Polsce SA, Works no. 3211. A total of 116 of this class were built between 1951 and 1954, four of which were exported to North Korea, the remainder being owned by PKP, Polish State Railways. The identity of this locomotive, which was originally Ol49-99, was exchanged in 2001 with Ol49-69, the number it now bears.
