Built in 1916 (Works No 44657) by the Badwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia, USA the locomotive was built for military service during the First World War and arrived at Statfold from India in 2013.
Disposed of as surplus a batch 50 WW1 Baldwins were sold to the North West Railway of India.
Some then found a 3rd life in service with industry, including Statfolds example, which worked at the Ryam Sugar Factory in Bihar State.
Awaiting restoration it was photographed in the Roundhouse at the Statfold Barn Railway, Staffordshire, England in September 2016.
