Taken at Lake Baikal, Russia on 17 May 2014 of the train which continued on to Mongolia and China without me, as I returned to Sweden suffering from bronchitis. So ended my round-the-world trip.

This train (and us on board) had completed approximately 5,200 km since leaving Moscow, with engine changes about every 24 hours. I would guess that the crew changed more often than that. However our two old tea-making biddies in their cubby-hole at the end of the carriage were aboard for the whole ride, as I had hoped I would be! At least they probably stayed until the carriage change in China (or would it be in Mongolia) due to the change of gauge. They had probably become part of the furniture!
