Built in 1941 by Henschel & Sohn, Kassel and photographed on 8 May 2014 in the Magyar Vasúttörténeti Park ("Hungarian Railway History Park"). This snow plough had been converted from a withdrawn steam locomotive at the MAV Főnökség Hegyeshalom Győr engineering Works. The Henschel works plate carries the number 49074-2 and the date 1941, while the painted MAV Hungary legend states KLIMA HOEKE-402.
Rudolf Klima and Hans Reischenbacher of Salzburg, Austria, filed a United States Patent no. 1,601,533 in 1925 for a locomotive-mounted snow plough, presumably of the type shown here. The two blades are independently moveable and operated by compressed air (in the patent application steam is used).
