Just a thought John, I finished working on the railway in 1987 and the '75' depicted here doesn't look like the signs did in my day. The number appears to be thinner. Have Network Rail adopted full metrication I wonder? 75 Km/Hour equates to 46 mph I reckon, possibly a realistic line speed over the temporary track at Dawlish. Lax of me for not keeping abreast of what is happening on British railways these days I think. Any comment gratefully received.

I have a friend in Dawlish who used, perhaps still does, train drivers. Next time I see him I will ask although I think that mph does still apply. Cheers
