A year after the sale of Tasmania's Emu Bay Railway to Australian Transport Network the blue diesel-hydraulics are still carrying the EBR banner on the ore trains that are the line's lifeblood. But the old order changeth on what is now the Melba line of Tasrail.
Logs are being hauled out of Rosebery (the first non-mineral traffic to be won in many years) in Tasrail log wagons which are air-braked and therefore incompatible with the vacuum-braked EBR locomotives. This has brought Tasrail 'main line' power to the EBR, including the former Queensland Railway GM units rebuilt for Tasrail in New Zealand (and the Tranzrail DC currently running around Tasmania with no external change beyond the substitution of 'Tas' for 'Tranz' on its blue body sides).
Here Tasrail 2007+2003, once QR 1485 and 1508 but now low-nosed and colourful in Tasrail's 'Wisconsin Central' red and yellow, wait with logs at Ridgeley while former EBR 1104 leads ore empties into the loop
