  It would have been a more comfortable ride on the 'Queen Mary' Brake than on the 0-6-0T, which could pitch and roll plus find any slight misalignment at a rail joint. Of course, for someone having a first chance of a footplate ride, then that would be pure heaven for them regardless. Dirty hands together with a huge smile on a coal smudged face even welcomed.
