While I was visiting the Euro Maint depot at Sävenäs, Gothenburg, bathed in sunshine today, 17 February 2014, I heard a diesel behind me. To my astonishment when I turned round, there was this specially painted TMX diesel locomotive pulling a few wagons. See also picture 7993 for more details.
IBAB stands for Inlandsbanan AB; IBAB which was founded in 1993 and is owned by the fifteen local authorities through which the line passes. Inlandsbanan AB is responsible for the administration and development of the line, while independent train operating companies run freight and tourist services. Inlandsbanan is the real backbone of central northern Sweden. The line was originally built – between 1907 and 1937 – mainly to transport precious raw materials from north to south.
