This photo was taken in Gent (Belgium). It is a two-way PCC, built bij BN, on account of the formerly known MIVG (Maatschappij voor Intercommunaal Vervoer te Gent) and belongs to the first 'disk' (01 - 46). Nowadays this tram runs under the 'auspiciën' of the VVM (Vlaamse Vervoers Maatschappij), better known as "De Lijn". The white-black livery is the house-style of 'De Lijn', though this tram still carries its old number 25 instead of its actual number 6225. The photo is likely to have been taken between 1994 en 2000.

Dear Bart..My wife (Bev) and I spent a year in Gent in 1997 and visited again in this year (2007) May, and always enjoyed travel on your trams. We went on the new line to an outer suburb from St Pieters. The new tram was really good. We live in Brisbane, Australia and our local council is considering building a light rail network to replace the one removed about 50 years ago. One of the objections is that we have some narrow streets and the old style trams here were quite wide, which contributed to traffic problems with cars etc. Therefore your model would be very suitable as it is narrow, 3 seats across and aisle between and folding rear vision mirrors. I would like to make a submission and therefore would appreciate any information that you could send me. I would hope that this could start further investigation by our people and maybe a visit to Gent and some discussions with you, or officers of De Lijn. My email address is below and my home (postal) address is 33 Borden Street, Sherwood, Brisbane. Queensland 4075 Australia...Looking forward to hearing from you...Regards Brad Grinstead
